Norrie Chapman - Veterinary Surgeon & Practice PrincipleNorrie Graham - BVSC MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon & Practice Principal

Owner of Rase Veterinary Centre, Aldervale Vets and Rase Equine. Norrie Qualified in 2000 from Liverpool and has spent the majority of her career in equine practice at Rase in Lincolnshire. Her interests include equine soft tissue surgery and poor performance investigation in a predominantly leisure horse caseload. She is Senior Veterinary Surgeon at our local National Hunt Racecourse at Market Rasen and Zoo vet to a wildlife park with a significant number of big cats and primates. Norrie bought the practice in 2015 and has developed it from a five branch mixed practice to both RCVS Tier 3 Small Animal and Equine Hospital. There are currently 17 branches across Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.

 


Nell Day - Veterinary SurgeonNell Day - Dr Med Vet MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon 

Nell joined us at Rase in 2013 after graduating from veterinary college in Budapest. Originally from Ireland, horses are in Nell’s blood - her whole family are riders. Nell developing interest lie in pre-purchase examinations and equine reproduction. Outside of work Nell loves travelling, her cat Ralph and her rescue dog Charlie.

 


Mark Andrews - Veterinary SurgeonMark Andrews - BVM&S Cert EP MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon 

Mark graduated from Edinburgh University in 1979. He holds a Certificate in Equine Practice, which underlines his knowledge and experience in the fields of equine diagnosis and treatment. As well as Market Rasen races, Mark also attends Southwell and Doncaster races in a professional role. Mark specialises in equine stud work, equine export, and certification and has a particular interest in acupuncture.

 


Stacey Pride - Veterinary SurgeonStacey Pride - MVDr BSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon 

Stacey qualified in 2015 from University of Veterinary Medicine in Kosice and joined us in 2016. She is a qualified Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon and enjoys all aspects of equine practice. In her spare time she does dressage with her horse Liquorice and spending time on her family farm. 

 


Adrian Sarbu - Veterinary SurgeonAdrian Sarbu - MSC MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon 

Adrian joined Rase in 2012. He is an FEI qualified vet for endurance and attends Market Rasen Races in his capacity as racecourse veterinary surgeon. He is part of our ambulatory equine vet team and is enjoying developing his equine knowledge.

 


Francisca GoncalvesFrancisca Goncalves - MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon

Fran is from Portugal and graduated in 2018 from Faculdade de Medicina Veterinaria in Lisbon and has been working with us since 2019. She is very interested in all aspects of equine medicine. Outside of work Fran has a passion for endurance riding.

Veterinary Surgeon 

Hannah joined us at Rase in 2018. Originally from Wales, Hannah loves all types of equine work and is one of those rare creatures that can turn her hand to anything! 

 


Harriet Deeming - BVSC MRCVSHarriet Deeming- BVSC MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon 

Harriet qualified in 2019 from Liverpool and joined the Rase team straight from University. She is currently practising in both equine and small animal work. Harriet is particularly enjoying small animal surgery but also has a specific interest and love for everything equine, not only in her veterinary work but also eventing her own horse in her spare time.

Veterinary Surgeon 

Katie qualified in 2018 from Nottingham, and joined Rase the same year. She loves all aspects of equine work. When not at work, it’s still all about horses as Katie wants to get out and do some BD with her horse Bertie.

 


Lucy Andrews - Veterinary SurgeonLucy Johnson - REVN
Equine Nurse

Lucy qualified as a nurse in 2011 but she has been working at Rase Equine Hospital far longer than that! Lucy loves spending time with the inpatients and providing them with lots of hugs and kisses! She has a particular interest in x-raying, assisting during surgery and enjoys all aspects of her equine job. When she gets some time away from the surgery she can think of nothing better than spending time with her Labrador Betty, her ex-racehorse Fernie and her new addition Nando, also an ex-racehorse. She also has a love of doing marathons and triathlons and has just completed the London marathon and her first half iron man.

 


Heather Burchnall - Veterinary NurseHeather Burchnall - RVN
Equine Nurse

Heather joined us in 2017 where she has been assisting the Equine team and generally making herself very useful. She is currently working towards qualifying as a Small Animal Veterinary Nurse at which time she aims to do the Equine top up. Heather has spent her life dealing with horses but has also had careers in Hospitality and working for a Law firm. Her favourite aspect of the job is day to day nursing, inpatient care, xray and laboratory work. Outside of work she is nover happier than when she is playing with ponies and her kitten Pringle.

 


Alison Holloway - Veterinary NurseAlison Holloway - RVN RSQP
Equine Nurse

Alison joined us in 2017 from a mixed practice doing large animal and equine work, and has very quickly made herself an invaluable member of the team. Alison qualified in 2016 but has been working in veterinary practices for many years providing her with a vital grounding and knowledge of all things medical. Alison particularly enjoys equine anaesthesia and critical care. Outside of work Alison, is busy with her small holding, ferrying around 4 children and likes the occasional glass of (well deserved) red wine! 

 


Richard Payne - Visiting SurgeonRichard Payne - BSc, BVSc, CertES(Orth), DipECVS, MRCVS
Consultant Visiting Surgeon

Richard has been our visiting surgeon for the past 5 years and has significantly increased the spectrum of equine surgical procedures we can perform at Market Rasen. He is a partner at Rossdales Equine Hospital and is one of the busiest specialists in equine surgery in the UK. His interests are arthroscopy, laser surgery and upper airway operations. As consultant visiting surgeon to Rase Equine, Richard visits our practice to provide surgical expertise and perform elective/planned surgery during clinic days, as required.
