Norrie Chapman

The owner and practice principal of Rase Veterinary Centre, Rase Equine and Aldervale Vets. A Liverpool graduate who has worked at the practice since 2000. Norrie is an equine vet who covers all aspects of equine work but has a special interest in soft tissue surgery including colic surgery. Based at the surgery in Market Rasen, Norrie deals with the more complex equine caseload that Lincolnshire horse owners throw at her. She can be found on most racedays at Market Rasen Racecourse where she has held the position of Senior Veterinary Surgeon since April 2015. Outside of work Norrie is a mother of two girls who likes nothing more than tending to her small holding and menagerie of livestock in her spare time.

Nell joined us at Rase Veterinary centre in 2013 after graduating from veterinary collage in Budapest. Originally from Ireland, horses are in Nell’s blood, her whole family are riders and her father is a well respected Rasehorse trainer. Nell enjoys all aspects of equine work but is particularly interested in anaesthesia and has been overseeing the gastrosopy clinics at our new satellite yard at Professional Equine Services, Kneesall. Outside of work Nell loves travelling and her cat Ralph.

Originally from the west of Scotland, Vicki joined Rase Veterinary Centre soon after qualifying from Glasgow Vet School in 2013. Vicki enjoys all aspects of equine work but is particularly interested in anaesthesia, care of patients with colic and wound management. Outside of work most of Vicki’s time is entertaining her overly energetic Doberman called Zara.

Mark graduated from Edinburgh University in 1979. He holds a Certificate in Equine Practice, which underlines his knowledge and experience in the fields of equine diagnosis and treatment. As well as Market Rasen races, Mark also attends Southwell and Doncaster races in a professional role. Mark specialises in equine stud work, lameness work ups and has a particular interest in acupuncture.

Din was born and brought up in Cambridge. Her parents are from Sri Lanka. She went to Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University in Edinburgh, Scotland and gained her BVM&S in July 2015. She has an interest in small animal, farm animal and equine practice and is thoroughly enjoying being out on Equizones and meeting the Rase Equine clients. Her aims are to learn more about equine anaesthesia and become a well rounded vet.

Caroline graduated from Edinburgh University in June 2003 and joined the practice the following year. Horse anaesthesia is of particular interest. Outside of work Caroline enjoys spending quality time with her dog Sally.

Carolyn qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2003 and topped this qualification up to become an Equine Nurse in 2009z She is a long standing member of staff having been at Rase for 19 years! Her favourite aspect of equine nursing is Gastroscopy and Radiography. In her spare time Carolyn likes walking her two Labradors Bre & Blue and riding her ex rase horse Maggie. Her newest addition is Tilly the cat who came in to the surgery as a stray. Tilly joins Ben the cat, Diesel the house rabbit and 2 chucks browny & Twinny. Every spring Carolyn makes her annual trip across the border to Yorkshire where she spends two weeks lambing on a farm.

Lucy qualified as a nurse in 2011 but she has been working at Rase Equine far longer than that! Lucy loves spending time with the inpatients and providing them with lots of hugs and kisses! She has a particular interest in x-raying, assisting during surgery and enjoys all aspects of her equine job. When she gets some time away from the surgery she can think of nothing better than spending time with her Labrador Betty and competing her ex-racehorse Fernie. She also has a love of doing marathons and triathlons and has just competed the ondon marathon and her first half iron man.

Sarah qualified in a small animal referral hospital in Leeds and developed an interest for anaesthesia and orthopaedic nursing. She moved to Lincolnshire in 2012 and started as an equine nurse at Rase in 2015 and she still works in small animal from time to time. At home Sarah has 4 cats, 3 guinea pigs, a rabbit, 10 chickens and her young cob who she has started novice in-hand showing with.

Richard graduated from the University of Bristol in 1995, having also obtained a degree in Pharmacology. After a year in mixed practice, he moved to Rossdales Equine Hospital where he completed a three-year residency in Equine Surgery. He became a partner at Rossdales in 2002, where his chief responsibility is organising and managing the hospital. Most of his time is spent dealing with the large and varied caseload of elective and emergency surgery that is referred to Rossdales from practices throughout the UK. This includes an equal proportion of orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures. He has a special interest in standing surgery and minimally invasive surgery, including arthroscopy, fracture repair, laparoscopy and laser surgery. His further qualifications include a RCVS Certificate in Equine Surgery (Orthopaedics) and in 2012 the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) awarded him Diplomate status.

Tom Grantham REVN is a full time equine dental technician who is also a fully qualified veterinary nurse performing routine dental treatments daily. He qualified as an Equine Veterinary Nurse in 2010, then deciding to study Equine Dentistry qualifying as a BAEDT, BEVA and BVDA Equine Dental Technician in 2012.

Sally has a wealth of knowledge in all things equine. She started riding at 2, went through the Pony Club and did B.S.P.S showing. As a junior Sally won a European gold medal, was short listed for the world games, competed nationally to medium level at Dressage and if that wasn't enough has ridden winners and placed horses in point to points and has ridden most 4 star events. Notably she came 18th at Burgley on her horse Honour High with the assistance of her multi talented groom Norrie Chapman nee Graham!

Nicki has worked at Rase Equine for many years and her role is central to the comfort and well-being of our equine inpatients and any other horse who visits the surgery. She is not only efficient and caring but also extremely knowleagable owning several horses of her own and regularly competing at BE.
