Adjacent to our equine operating theatre is our fully padded anaesthetic box. Horses that are to undergo general anaesthesia are placed in the box in order to reduce the chance of injury when they lie down.
Once anaesthetised horses are delivered to the operating table from the anaesthetic box via an electric hoist. This lifts the patient and travels with the patient along a rail.
After surgery, horses will then safely recover in this room where the padded rubber surface provides the optimum environment for safe recovery.
